Unable to cope with online class, college girl ends life

In another incident of suicide following failing to cope with online classes, an 18-year-old college girl who attempted suicide — after complaining to her parents that she could not concentrate in online classes — in Sholavaram, died without responding to treatment on Sunday.

The deceased Dharshini of Arumandhai village was a first-year BSc student of a private college in the city, while his father B Giri is a daily wage labourer. While Dharshini kept complaining to her parents that she is unable to understand the subjects taught online, she attempted suicide by hanging in her house around 4 pm on Saturday.

Though she was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital from where she was shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH), she died without responding to treatment on Sunday.

On information, Sholavaram police registered a case and further investigation is on.
