The Korattur police intercepted a youth with the contraband on CTH Road. Police seized several packets of tobacco from the youth, who was later identified as R Siddhu (23). 

Based on information provided by Siddhu, the police raided the house at Padi and arrested Shakunthala (45). Police said Shakunthala had been producing the tobacco products at her house and was supplying it to different parts of the city.
