Two held for cheating aspirants with fake TNPSC appointment orders

The Central Crime Branch of city police arrested two people for cheating government job aspirants of several lakhs by issuing fake appointment orders of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).

The accused — B Nagendra Rao (54) and A Gnanasekar (43) of Tondiarpet — were arrested based on a complaint by TNPSC secretary B Nandakumar after a few people approached the commission with fake orders. Among them were R Padmavathi, a resident of Ramapuram and Sahira from Sembium. They were cheated of Rs 6 lakh.

Investigation revealed that the duo collected money from several people on the pretext of getting them government jobs in Group 2 category and issued fake appointment orders disguised as originals issued by the TNPSC.

Nagendra and Gnanasekar have been remanded in judicial custody.
