They sought Rs 4.4 crore as compensation. After taking the family’s claim into account the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal awarded the family Rs 1.4 crore as compensation.

The cheque was presented by the insurance company officials to Nedunchehiyan’s widow Anushiya and mother Kuppayee Ammal.
