Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit tests positive for COVID-19 in Chennai. He is asymptomatic and clinically stable according to a statement issued by the hospital. Earlier on Sunday, Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has been admitted in a private hospital in Alwarpet, Chennai for a medical examination.

The Hospital report further stated that the Governor is advised for self isolation and a team of doctors on behalf of the hospital are engaged to monitor his health regularly.

This comes in the wake of 84 people in the Raj Bhavan testing positive for COVID-19 last week.

Following which, the Governor was said to be in home quarantine for the past few days, as per the advice of his medical team.

It was reported that eighty-four security and fire services personnel deployed at the Raj Bhavan had tested positive for COVID-19, but none of them was said to be in contact with the Governor or senior officials.
