TN CM flags off 701 new buses and 65 small buses

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today flagged off 701 new buses and 65 small buses acquired at a cost of Rs 144.47 crore.

Out of this, 52 would be operated in Chennai city by the Metropolitan Transport Corporation, 97 for Villupuram State Express Transport Corporation, 85 for Salem State Transport  Corporation, 93 for Coimbatore State Transport Corporation, 202 for Kumbakonam State Transport Corporation, 154 for Madurai State Transport Corporation, 18 for Tirunelveli State Transport Corporation and 65 small buses for 30 routes in Chennai.

Ministers and top government officials were present when the Chief Minister flagged off the bus services at a function held at the State Secretariat.
