The locals on spotting the carcass of male Tiger aged around 10-years alerted the forest department.

A team of forest officials visited the spot and inspected the carcass.

The cause of the death is under investigation.

The viscera samples of the big cat would be sent for tests to find out whether it was natural death or foul play like poisoniong by locals. Veterinary  doctors would also conduct a post-mortem today.

The Tiger might have sneaked to Kodaikanal hills from the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park in the Western Ghats.
