Police said the gang were arrested when they were trying to smuggle out the free grinders to Andhra Pradesh for selling them there. Police said they had arrested Sengammal (50), Chokkammal (45), both natives of Andhra Pradesh and Jayakumar (35) and recovered 50 grinders from them.

Police said the gang purchased these grinders after paying Rs 500 to Rs 1000 to the people and took them to Andhra Pradesh for selling them at a much higher rate. Police sources said most of the people sell the freebies for rock bottom prices and there are rackets operating across the state.
