Currently, the restaurant has 30 branches in India. The chain is set to open a branch in Dubai, which will be its second overseas outlet after Paris.
Commenting about the opening of the Paris branch, D Nagasamy, the grandson of the founder and the Managing Director of the restaurant, said, “We are a household name in Tamil Nadu. Over the years, the popularity of our biriyani reached many others parts of the country, and abroad. We are responding to the demand by expanding our network in India and overseas.”
He added, “We chose Paris first because the French love biriyani. It is so popular that one of the most famous French dictionaries has included ‘biriyani’ in its latest edition”.
Nagasmay added that the Paris branch will be run by one of its experienced chefs and trained cooks. The new restaurant will offer Thalappakatti boneless mutton biriyani, karandi omelette, black pepper chicken, and barbeque items and masalas imported from Arabian countries.
