Antony Jennifer of Kanniyakumari was found dead when the students entered the classroom in Saraswathy Nagar (North) on East Coast Road. Once the shocked students informed the school administration, the Neelankarai police were alerted. The officials soon rushed to the spot, retrieved his body and sent it to Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Antony Jennifer was upset over a dispute on buying a house in his hometown. “An MBA graduate, he joined the school in July last year as he could not get another job. He was teaching economics for higher secondary students. He stayed in the hostel and was in charge of managing the hostel as well,” the police said.

Further investigations are on to find whether the teacher had any problems with the school management or any issues in his personal life.
