Students clash at Crescent college, holiday declared

Students of BS Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology indulged in a violent clash on Monday, leading to the arrest of two of them and closure of the college for one week.

Sources said that second and third year students were fighting since Friday, though the reason is not known yet. On Sunday, the situation got worsened as a second year student, Syed Salman (20), was injured after he was beaten up with an iron rod. 

Videos of the clashes were also leaked on Monday evening, leading to the college declaring holiday for one week and evicting the students from hostel. Over 100 students of two gangs involved in the attack were capture on the video, which has also captured a student with an iron rod.

Police have arrested two third year students - Navdeep Ahmed (20) of Kodungaiyur and Naweeb Ahmed (20) of Chidambaram. Further investigation is on. When tried to get in touch with the college administration, the PRO said they were out of town and did not know about the incident.
