Deposing before Justice M Venugopal, Stalin denied all the allegations, including the one pertaining to the alleged seizure of Rs 1.18 crore meant for distribution to voters, made by the former Chennai Mayor and losing AIADMK candidate Saidai Duraisamy from the Kolathur constituency. He also denied another averment in the plea that he had state government employees and police helping him.

Another allegation that was negated by Stalin included the use of women self-help groups to distribute money to the voters. Advocate Soundararajan, counsel for Saidai Duraisamy, cross-examined him for a while. However, since the process remained inconclusive, the case was adjourned to November 4 for further proceedings, when Stalin must appear again.
