Son stabs woman to death, held

A 65-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her son in Nolambur on Saturday evening.

The deceased was identified as Jayalakshmi, said the police, adding that her son Veeraraghavalu (28) has been detained at Nolambur station. Officials said that the Veeraraghavalu appeared to be mentally unstable. They have informed Jayalakshmi's elder son has been informed of the incident, as Veeraraghavalu did not respond to queries, said the police. The neighbours who heard her loud cries rushed to their house to find Jayalakshmi lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital but she was declared brought dead.
