Software engineer arrested for threatening woman

The Arumbakkam police arrested a software engineer for threatening a woman demanding Rs 5 lakh, which he allegedly spent for her.

According to police, S Gokul Nath (30), a resident of Mohan Ram Nagar, Mogappair, was working as an engineer at a software firm in Bengaluru. Already married and having a child, Gokul befriended Geetha (32), a divorcee and resident of MMDA Colony, Arumbakkam, on Facebook and the duo later fell in love with each other. They also started having an intimate relationship. However, in the last few months, the couple had fights and Geetha avoided contacting Gokul. This irked Gokul and he started pestering Geetha to give back Rs 5 lakh he had spent for her. He then started threatening her over phone. Following this, Geetha lodged a complaint with the Arumbakkam police, who arrested Gokul.
