Rs 4L cosmetic drugs seized at city airport

The Customs officials seized cosmetic drugs worth Rs 4.6 lakh from a passenger at Chennai airport on Thursday. As they were checking the passengers who arrived from Kuala Lumpur, the officials grew suspicious of one of them –31-year-old Abdul Sami. They intercepted him and took his baggage for examination, inside which they found cosmetic drugs.

The officials recovered four boxes of Glutax 2000GS (Pico Absorption Recombined White), four boxes of Glutax 2000000GX (Dual NA Premium Recombined Cell), six bottles of Glutax 75G DCRP 750000 (DNA Cell Revitalise Process) softgels, four boxes of Evgenis Dumovit-7000 Demarcate Youth (Quattro Whitening Effect), four boxes of NC 24Ultra PDRN Miracle 280000 Japan, and twelve boxes of Glutax 75 GX 750000 (DNA Cell Revitalise Process).


As Abdul did not have any invoice or certificate from the Controller of Drugs, the officials seized the drugs and detained him for further inquiry. Cosmetic drugs are in high demand in Chennai, as many beauty parlours and skin treatment centres are offering services such as like anti-aging, skin whitening and wrinkle removal treatments.
