‘Restore palm oil, dhal supply’

Stating that it was shocking to know that officials have stopped distributing palm oil and dhal in the Public Distribution System outlets in the state, PMK founder S Ramadoss condemned the move. He demanded the state to restore supply of the essential items in the PDS outlets.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Ramadoss said “Palm oil and various dhal varieties were sold at a nominal cost by the government and it has benefitted the poor. Suddenly the government has stopped supply of such items.”

The PMK founder added “The Civil Supplies officials provided these items only to 40 per cent of the card holders last month. They have stopped the distribution this month.”

“If the government fails to take any measures to remedy this, the prices of these commodities in the open market would skyrocket,” warned Ramadoss.
