‘Remove banners in Madurai within a week’

The High Court (Madurai Bench) on Monday directed the top officials in Madurai to remove banners in the city within a week.

Activist Traffic Ramasamy had filed a petition claiming that there were several illegal banners of the ruling party in Madurai and when he went to dispose them he was threatened by AIADMK men. He added that cops attached to Thideernager Police to did not allow him to remove the banners. 

Following the hearing in the case, the judge directed the Corporation Commissioner, City Police Commissioner and Madurai Collector to remove the flex boards by one week and also directed all three officials to submit status report by two weeks.
