Relief package announcement after PM’s return: BJP

Relief package to the state in the aftermath of the recent monsoon deluge will be announced after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s return to India, said General Secretary of the BJP and State observer, Muralidhar Rao.

After inaugurating an event falling on the occasion of ‘World Fishermen Day’ named ‘NAMO Fish and Food Products Festival’ at the Marina beach in Chennai, the central functionary said, “The central delegation under minister Nirmala Seetharaman is conducting a review over the rain damages. After the arrival of the Prime Minister from his international trip, necessary action would be taken on the relief package,” he said.

He also ensured that action was being taken with regard to the plight of the Indian fishernmen. “Indian government is taking action to ensure safety fishing for Indian fishermen and schemes are on the anvil for livelihood of fishermen and fisherwomen” he added.

Various party functionaries participated and the public were handed out free fish products during the occasion
