Recovering from fever, man dies a week later

A 52-year-old man, who recovered from a fever a week ago, collapsed in his house in Tiruvottiyur and died on Saturday. The deceased, Dhanasekar, was a Corporation conservancy worker in the Kolathur office.

According to his wife, Geetha of Rajeshwari Nagar, Dhanasekar was on leave due to fever and returned to duty a week ago after he recovered. However, he stayed at home on Saturday owing to Labour Day. Dhanasekar had been complaining of body ache since the previous day and suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital but was referred to Government Stanley Hospital. However, doctors at Stanley declared him dead. The Tiruvottiyur police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
