What have been the relief efforts taken by the Corporation of Chennai?

Food, water and medicines have been suppliied by Corporation from its resources to all needy places. Other material like biscuits, bread, bedsheets, mats received from donor agencies to the tune of about 1,200 MT has been distributed as soon as it was received to neediest areas, including all our relief centres.

How many people have had access to the relief measures?

Till now over 75 lakh food packets have been distributed and even now 25,000 evacuated people sheltered in our relief centres are being looked after with food, water, milk, and bedding, as well as toilet facilities.

Have you been able to cover a wide area?

We can obviously cover only limited areas with whatever material we receive. But it has been en-sured that at least food and water has been given to those who wanted it.
