Politicos condole lyricist’s death

Leaders of various political parties have condoled the shocking demise of lyricist Na Muthukumar, who was a distant relative of CN Annadurai.

Expressing shock, DMK president M Karunanidhi, in a statement, said that Muthukumar has left an everlasting imprint on the film industry. Leader of opposition MK Stalin who paid floral tributes to Muthukumar said the demise of the lyricist, who flourished as the chakravarti of Tamil cinema, is an irreparable loss to all. 

Appreciating Muthukumar for reaching the pinnacle of glory and penning more than 1,500 songs in a very short span, MDMK leader Vaiko said the song aananda yaazhai meetugiral illustrating the affection between a father and daughter in the movie Thangameengal had touched every parent. 

CPM state secretary G Ramakrishnan, BJP state president Tamizhisai Soundararajan and VCK leader Thol Tirumavalavan were among the leaders who paid floral tributes and expressed their condolences to the bereaved family. 

VCK general secretary Ravi Kumar said Muthukumar is an inspiration to budding lyricists.
