Sankar is the one who proved that an IAS coaching centre can function successfully in Chennai. He helped several rural students to become government officers, said Stalin. 

“Shankar was born in an ordinary family and after his dream of becoming an IAS officer failed, he set up an IAS institute in which several poor students were given free training,” said Ramadoss.

Sankar’s death shocked several politicians and thousands of civil service aspirants who were getting training in his academy. Apart from his coaching centre, Sankaran is known for his stand on issues regarding social justice and was widely appreciated by the politicians for raising his voice for social equality. 

In his statement, Veeramani said that Sankar helped many first generation graduates become government officials and worked tirelessly for social welfare. His death was shocking and he had met his destiny in an unexpected fashion. Tamil community had many benefits to reap from Sankar and his early demise is disheartening, Veeramani added. 

The community of civil service aspirants and directors of various civil service institutes, too, expressed shock over the death of Sankaran and condoled his death.
