Policeman falls from building, hurt

A policeman on duty at the Children’s home at Purasawalkam suffered serious injuries after falling from the second floor of the Children’s home on Wednesday night.

An armed police constable Anand Raj, a native of Arakkonam, was on duty at the Children’s home on Wednesday night and when he was patrolling the second floor of the building, he slipped and fell down. 

Police said the floor had no iron railings and he accidentally slipped and fell. Hearing loud cries of Anand Raj, other policemen on duty rushed to the spot and took him to the hospital. 

Police said Anand Raj suffered a rib fracture. Secretariat police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
