Two men entered a private firm on the sixth floor of the Gaiety complex near Anna Salai through the emergency exit. The burglars used the lift to reach the office premises and entered through the emergency exit.

Since the safety rooms had been opened using the swipe cards without any damage to locks, police suspected that it could be the involvement of the employees. The incident came to light when the staff reached the office on Wednesday morning and found the almirahs broken open. Similarly, Vadapalani police are yet to trace the burglar who escaped with about 120 sovereigns from the house of Electricity Board employee in Andal Nagar.
