Park in Adyar named after Karunanidhi

A resolution to name the park after the leader was passed in council meeting, on Thursday.

CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai Corporation has named a newly built park in Adyar after former chief minister and former DMK supremo M Karunanidhi.

A resolution to name the park after the leader was passed in council meeting, on Thursday.

"The new park in Gandhi Nagar in ward 173 will be named as 'Kalaignar M Karunanidhi' Park'. The park has been set up at Rs. 9.41 crore under Chennai Rivers Restoration Trust (CRRT) project, " the resolution said.

The resolution lauded the leader and said that he entered public life at the age of 14 and elected as member of assembly 13 times apart from elected as the chief minister for 5 times.
