A panic situation prevailed on Saturday following the revelation that the staff had moved around the court premises on Thursday and was present at the hearing that transpired before a division bench comprising Justice R Subbiah and Justice R Pongiappan. During the hearing, the Advocate General and Government pleader were reportedly present.

Sources revealed that the staff who reported for work on Thursday have all been subjected to a swab tests for the virus by a team from the Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services (DMS). An urgent meeting comprising over five judges transpired and steps have been taken to sanitise the court hall in which the staff was present. The chambers of the two judges who held the sitting have also been sanitised.

Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar in his daily brief about the virus spread, said the contacts of the staff are being traced and source of infection is being tracked. The mass disinfection in all the areas the staff came in contact with is being undertaken, he added.
