As a result, those who applied in recent months before the election dates were announced are facing difficulty in getting their cards. In fact, the scrutiny of applications and house verification have been completed for a number of applicants. Sources said that due to the code new ration cards would be issued only after the results of the Assembly elections are announced that is after May 19.

Similarly, name change, addition, deletion, change of address or correction of any other detail could also be done only after May 19, sources added. Moreover, officials in most of the government offices have been posted on election duty. So, approximately it would be only in June, government offices would resume normal work. Likewise, public applying for fresh patta and transfer have also been hit badly.
