Nigerian college students nab molesters near Chennai

Two foreign nationals studying in two different colleges in the city on Tuesday night fought two men, who tried to molest them, and overpowered them with the help of locals at Otteri near Vandalur.

The two girls, both from Nigeria, studying in Loyola College and MCC were walking to their rooms in Otteri. Two men, who were in an inebriated condition, tried to molest them. The girls cried for help even as they fought with the duo. Panicked by the girls’ resistance, the two men tried to flee the spot. But locals caught the two and handed them over to the police. 

Otteri police registered a case under IPC 354 (a) (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323 (attack with hands) 294 (b) (abusing) and 506 (II) (criminal intimidation), apart from Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Women Harassment (Prevention) Act.

Police said that the duo would be remanded after being produced before a magistrate court on Wednesday.
