Navy man hit by cricket ball at INS Adyar dies

Playing cricket turned fatal for a 25-year-old Naval personnel after the ball hit his chest in INS Adyar on Thursday.

The deceased, Jogindar of Rajasthan, was serving on INS Car Nicobar warship. The incident happened around 4 pm when he along with other staff members were playing cricket in the ground in INS Adyar. The ball hit his chest and he fell unconscious at the spot. He was rushed to the Navy Hospital inside the premises, and immediately transferred to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH). However, doctors at RGGGH declared him dead on arrival. On information, Fort police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.
