Namasivayam men threaten to commit suicide

Seven supporters of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president A Namasivayam created a flutter when they climbed atop a cell phone tower at Kombakkam near here and threatened to commit suicide if their leader was not given the Chief Minister post.

Meanwhile, 50 others put up a road blockade there disrupting vehicular traffic in the area. 

Police held talks with the agitators, pacified them and made them climb down from the cell phone tower. 

It may be noted that even after a week of declaration of the election results, the Congress party has failed to elect a CLP leader due to tussle for the Chief Minister post between AICC General Secretary V Narayansamy, former Chief Minister V Vaithilingam and Namasivayam. 

AICC observers Ghulam Nabi Azad and Mukul Wasnik will be visiting Puducherry on Tuesday night to hold talks with the party leaders and sort out the issue.
