Mother, daughter found dead in Saidapet flat

In a shocking twin murder, a mother and her college-going daughter were found dead with their throats slit in their apartment in Saidapet on Wednesday evening, police said

The victims, who have been identified as Hemalatha (57), wife of Shanmugam and Jayalakshmi (22), a final year  engineering student, were found dead in Mahalakshmi Flats, KP Koil Street, Saidapet, at around 9 pm.

Upon receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot, retrieved the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. Investigations are on to find out if the two were murdered for gain or if there was any other motive behind the murders.

The twin murders have sent shock waves in the residential neighbourhood.  Further investigations are on.
