Minister holds talks with pvt hospitals

Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar inspected the exclusive fever clinic and isolation ward at the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital to review the preparedness measures. The Minister also met the deans of private medical colleges to assess the preparedness to avert the outbreak of pandemic.

On Saturday, the number of positive cases doubled to six after the test results of three persons returned positive. Meanwhile, the Health Minister said on Saturday that the Tamil Nadu would observe complete shutdown on Sunday with an aim to prevent community spread of the virus.


“We aim at preventing the community spread across the State. There are latest guidelines on screening and control measures to be followed to prevent the risk. The guidelines were issued earlier to test all the samples with a travel history and suspected symptoms. The Health department is ensuring testing of all samples,” he added.
