Message of ‘People’s President’ will enable India to be Jagatguru: Governor Banwarilal Purohit

Describing late President APJ Abdul Kalam as an inspirational figure, Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Monday said his message would make India the ‘Jagatguru’ of the world.

Governor Banwarilal Purohit garlanded a statue of Dr Kalam at Raj Bhavan and also paid floral tributes to his portrait. He also delivered a digital address highlighting the achievements of Dr Kalam.

In his address at an event organised by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation, House of Kalam, Rameswaram, to mark his fifth Remembrance Day he said, ‘’Dr Kalam is an inspirational figure to us, his unsullied and exemplary life of probity is something that we look up to.”

He said Dr Kalam was a votary of the principle of simple living and high thinking. ‘’I am sure that Dr Kalam’s message will make India the Jagatguru of the world,’’ he added.

Purohit said looking at the glorious chronicles of the life of Dr Kalam, it comes as no surprise that he had the chance of passing away while doing what he loved to do —teaching.

Fondly recalling his words, Purohit, quoting Dr Kalam said “If people will remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honour for me.”
