Sources said that a team led by actor Vishal, president of Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council, monitored the movements of Gowrisankar for the last few days before securing him and handing him over to Triplicane police. He is being grilled to ascertain the whereabouts of others in the team.

The popular online portal is a big hit among NRIs who download and watch Kollywood blockbusters on the day of release. Video and online piracy remain a major threat to the film industry and producers have lodged several complaints of their films being leaked online by portals such as Tamil Rockers and Tamilgun. Investigations are on.
