Man held with 1.2 kg of ganja at Chetpet

The Chetpet police on March 25 arrested a ganja peddler and recovered 1.2 kg of the contraband from him.

According to the police, a patrol team saw a man standing near Namasivayam Bridge in Chetpet. Growing suspicious, the officials questioned him and he gave contradictory replies. They checked his bag and found 1.3 kg of ganja inside. The officials immediately seized the contraband and arrested him. He was later identified as Guru alias Gana Guru (27), of Pallavan Salai, Triplicane. Police said Guru was waiting for a customer when the patrolling team picked him up. He was produced before the magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody.
