Man held for threatening estranged girlfriend in Korukkupet

Based on a complaint from the woman, Korukkupet police registered a case.

CHENNAI: A 25-year-old man was arrested for threatening his estranged girlfriend with a knife at her house in Korukkupet after she stopped talking to him.

Police said that the 23-year-old woman was in a relationship with the accused, S Suresh. However, she broke off all ties with him after she learnt about his wayward activities, police said.

Suresh had harassed her over phone continuously over this, after which he turned up outside her house on Saturday evening. On seeing Suresh creating a ruckus, the woman came outside to pacify him, but he pushed her and threatened her with a knife.

Based on a complaint from the woman, Korukkupet police registered a case.

On Monday, police arrested the accused, Suresh from his residence in Ekambaram street in Korukkupet.

He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
