Make your own ginger ale at home for better digestion

Ginger ale is growing popular as an alternative to soft drinks. With its earthy ginger flavour, the drink, not only can be used in cocktails and mocktails, but also as a beverage in itself.

The fermented drink can be used as a home remedy for indigestion and motion sickness, as well as to cure coughs and sore throats. Its health benefits are probably why it is being made and sold at cafes and restaurants. But, you can make your own ginger ale right at home with natural ingredients, to reap more nutrition from the beverage, instead of the excess sugar that the commercially made ones tend to have.

  • Take fresh mint leaves to prepare a juice by blending the leaves with water.
  • Prepare ginger juice by blitzing the ginger slices along with water.
  • In a jar, mix together the ginger and mint juices.
  • Add in some lime juice and homemade sugar syrup. Pour in carbonated water or soda and add in fresh mint leaves on top for freshness.
