Infant killed, 6 injured as truck collides with car in TN

A seven-month-old boy was killed and six others, including his parents, were injured, when a car in which they were travelling collided head on with a truck at Gopalapuram village near Kovilpatti, here today.

Police said Nagercoil-based advocate Rajaram (32) was returning to his home along with wife Rekha (27), son R Nikil Raj and relatives in a car after attending a function at Tiruppur, when the mishap occurred.
 
The car collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction in which Nikil Raj was killed on the spot.

The injured were rescued from the mangled car and admitted to a private hospital.

Nalattinpudur police has registered a case and investigation is on.
