Income Tax officials grill ‘godman’ for three hours

More than two weeks after the I-T sleuths raided the premises belonging to Kalki Bhagwan alias Vijayakumar, he appeared before the taxmen on Wednesday.

The godman was grilled for nearly three hours in the evening and allowed to leave around 6.30 pm on Wednesday, sources said. It may be recalled that undisclosed income worth more than Rs 800 crore was detected during the five-day raids conducted across 40 premises. The officials seized Rs 44 crore cash, 90 kg of gold, foreign currencies worth Rs 20 crore besides unearthing documents of properties over 4,000 acres of land. They had also found that undisclosed investment were made by Kalki and others it in Dubai, Africa, British Virgin Islands to the tune of Rs 100 crore.
