HR and CE head shifted in major IAS reshuffle

With the transfer of more than 25 IAS officers including several seniors, the state government, on Thursday had gone for a major reshuffle in administration.

Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan, in her order, transferred officials in the rank of Principal Secretaries in the state administration apart from transferring few district collectors. 

Among the transferred officials, at least three bureaucrats are embroiled in various controversies, both within and outside the departments. 

R Jaya, Commissioner, HR&CE Department, who was facing several charges in the idol smuggling cases had been posted as Managing Director (MD) of Tamil Nadu Warehousing Corporation replacing Santhosh K Misra, who is posted as Commissioner of e-Governance. 

T Udayachandran, Secretary, School Education Department, had been posted as Commissioner of Archaeology. 

Shambu Kallolikar, MD, Slum Clearance Board had been posted as secretary, Environment and Forest Department, replacing Nasimuddin, who is now posted as secretary, Energy Department. According to sources, Theni forest fire incident casted a bad light on Nasimuddin, who failed to act swift during the incident and the complaint was escalated to Forest Minister, Dindigul Sreenivasan, who took up the issue with Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami. 

Shambu Kallolikar was also posted as Chairman of Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, as additional charge.  

Apart from them, Phanindra Reddy, secretary, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles and Khadi Department, had been posted as Director of Anna Institute of Management. Sunil Paliwal, secretary, Higher Education Department, had been posted as secretary, Labour and Employment Department. 

Santhosh K Misra, MD, TN Warehousing Corporation had been posted as Commissioner of e-Governance and also the MD of Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency, as additional charge. Kumar Jayant, secretary, Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection Department, had been posted as secretary, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles and Khadi Department. 

Among the transfer of district collectors, Chennai Collector V Anbuselvan, was transferred to Cuddalore district replacing VP Thandapani, who is now posted as Director of Stationery and Printing. 

G Latha, Sivaganga Collector, had been posted as Joint Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, a newly created post, which was created in the wake of recent floods and government opting for more swift action during the times of natural calamities.
