Hindu Munnani leader’s house attacked

In a repeat of Sunday’s twin petrol bomb attack in Vellore, a Hindu Munnani leader’s factory-cum-residence was attacked in Tirupur city early on Monday. The petrol bombs caused damage to the building and machinery in the factor, the police said.

The attack was carried out on the house of Hindu Munnani’s Tirupur treasurer, Shanmugam at around 2 am. The portico of the house suffered some damage in the 

incident, they said. 

Protesting the attack, the outfit has called for a bandh in Tirupur on Tuesday. The Hindu Munnani along with Tirupur Industrial Protection Committee, of which Shanugham is a member, appealed to the traders and establishments to support a shutdown. 

The attack comes a day after similar incidents on the house and bus of Hindu Munnani leaders in Vellore. Three unexploded petrol bombs were found at a divisional functionary’s house in Vellore.
