Gudalur Class 10 students seek lifting bar on exam, result

Thirteen Class 10 students from Thiruvalluvar Higher Secondary School, Gudalur, in Theni district and their parents staged a protest on Monday and submitted a representation to the Director of School Education and officials of the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) seeking the release of their board exam results.

They also urged officials to revoke the DGE’s order barring them permanently from taking examinations. 

The officials said that they would look into the issue and take appropriate action. A student alleged that their teacher asked her to enrol as a private candidate for board exam. 

“When the results were announced, we were informed that we had not taken practicals, which is not true,” she alleged.
