Gold, cash, property docus looted from house in Tiruporur

Unidentified robbers decamped with 15 sovereign ornaments, Rs 10,000 and property documents from a house near Tiruporur on Friday.

The burglary occurred in the house of A Venkatesan (30), from Thaiyur village in Tiruporur, a realtor and area secretary of the DMDK youth wing. According to the police, Venkatesan and family had gone to his father-in-law’s house in the nearby village on Thursday. When Venkatesan returned on Friday morning, he found the front door of his house broke open. After checking, he found out that robbers looted gold, cash and documents of all his properties. Venkatesan filed a complaint with the Kelambakkam police station and a case has been registered. An inquiry has been initiated and the police suspect Venkatesan’s relatives behind the incident.
