What is the auction house all about?

It is an online store for art, jewellery, prints, antique swords and daggers, period furniture, antiquarian books, maps, cricket memorabilia and a host of other decorative works of art and collectibles.

How does the portal work and what are the products available on the site?

The works on the site can be purchased online and also through the Facebook application. There is no additional buyer’s premium charged and the works are available at one flat price and can be shipped worldwide. The current collection comprises a unique and eclectic mix of vintage & contemporary art, jewellery, fine china, ephemera, Wedgwood and gent’s cufflinks amongst other memorabilia.

How did this idea/venture come about?

In between auctions, we at Bid & Hammer, wanted to continue engaging our patrons and at the same time cater to a new collector base by the introduction of a home-décor and collectible accessories segment that does not involve the formalities of an auction and makes quality art within the reach of all and that’s how this venture came about.
