Gang of four attacks police vehicle at Vadapalani

A group four unidentified men hurled liquor bottle at a police patrol vehicle in Vadapalani in the wee hours of Monday.

The incident took place around 1.30 am on South Perumal Koil Street when sub-inspector Venkatramanan was on his rounds in a patrol vehicle along with a driver. It is said that four men in two motorbikes who were passing by the vehicle threw a liquor bottle on the windshield and fled the scene. 

The sub-inspector, who did not anticipate the attack, tried to chase the gang but in vain. A hunt has been launched to trace the gang using CCTV footage recovered from the locality.
