Flights, Metro, buses resume services

Bus services also resumed at noon to Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Pudukkottai.

By Thursday morning, the Chennai Airport resumes flight services. Following the brief respite from rain and the drop in wind, flights started to take off on schedule. Meanwhile, Metro Train services started by 12 noon on Thursday. The holiday timetable is being followed with the headway of 10 minutes.

Bus services also resumed at noon to Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Pudukkottai. 

Many parts of Chennai city witnessed property damage due to water-logging and fallen trees. Thousands of people have been evacuated to storm shelters across Tamil Nadu. Many districts in Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry have declared a holiday on November 26.
