Five held for selling drugs at beauty parlour in Kodambakkam

A total of 52 grams of narcotic substances, including cocaine and methamphetamine, were seized from the accused.

CHENNAI: The Anti- Narcotics Unit of the city police arrested five persons including a law student for alleged possession and distribution of drugs in Kodambakkam on Sunday

According to a Daily Thanthi report, based on a tip-off, the cops conducted a raid at a beauty parlour in Kodambakkam on Sunday. They found that the parlour owner Gajendran had cocaine in his possession at the parlour. Based on his confession, the police also arrested his associates Vignesh, a bank employee, Irfan, an IT professional, Selvaraj, a law student and Faizal.

It is also reported that the five-member gang was peddling drugs to several people in the neighbourhood.

A total of 52 grams of narcotic substances, including cocaine and methamphetamine, were seized from the accused.

Investigation revealed that the gang was procuring the drugs from a person in Bengaluru and selling it in Chennai.

The police are on the lookout for the kingpin of the drug network.
