FIAPO Organisations helpline to prevent jallikattu

Recently PETA India along with Federation of Indian Animal Protection (FIAPO) and a few other organisations successfully challenged the move of Indian Government that had sanctioned jallikattu in the Supreme Court to secure a stay order on the conduct of such events

But defying the Supreme Court ban, organisers in some interior villages are going ahead with it, challenging the district administration and police to take action. To keep a check and stop such events, FIAPO has put up a helpline where people can report through Whatsapp by sending photos and videos, based on which the organisation will file police complaints to bring the perpetrators to justice and to prevent any such events taking place. It has already received scores of reports of such events from remote villages like Ainapur and Kagwad in Belguam.
