Everyone must follow in Anna’s footsteps: Vaiko

Former Tamil Nadu CM C.N. Annadurai’s humility, decency and honesty should be emulated by everybody. His thoughts and actions could always guide those involved in public service, said MDMK general secretary Vaiko, while speaking at a VIT function on Tuesday.

Releasing the book Anna, Arumai Anna authored by VIT university’s founder-chancellor G. Viswanathan, he said Anna’s thoughts were far reaching as he was always politically decent. Anna was the first person who gave Tamils a global identity, he said. Responding G. Viswanathan called for the development of political decency in Tamil Nadu.

Referring to the education scenario, he said India was backward when compared to other countries. Education progress in India was not as anticipated, he said, adding that TN would suffer if there was no change in the present education scenario. Former union minister SR Balsubramanaim, former state minister VV Swaminathan, former MPs T. Pandian and M. Krishnaswamy spoke. Those who participated include L.Ganesan of BJP and  industrialist V.G. Santosham.
