Erode Railway Junction to get escalators in three months

As part of providing passenger amenities, escalator facility would be made available in the Railway Junction within next three months.

The Railway administration had granted sanction for setting up escalators and work on it would commence soon and completed within three months, Salem Divisional Railway Manager Hari Shankar Verma said last evening.

He also said a lift already functioning in the station would be made available for the use of aged passengers.

Verma said six posts of doctors lying vacant in the Erode Railway Hospital would be filled soon. At present, only three doctors are available in the hospital.

He was speaking after distributing ISO certificate to the Erode-Coimbatore EMU passenger train coaches’ maintenance wing for best maintenance.
